HAPPY ST. NICHOLAS DAY

December 6th
.
Getting a great gift this St. Nicholas Day in the wisdom, vision and grace of a wonderful conference in progress. The weather outside is frightful (FIFTEEN DEGREES!) but the discourse is quite delighful!
.
More later ... for now, here's the Collect of the Day:
Almighty God, in your love you gave your servant Nicholas of Myra a perpetual name for deeds of kindness both on land and sea: Grant, we pray, that your Church may never cease to work for the happiness of children, the safety of sailors, the relief of the poor, and the help of those tossed by tempests of doubt or grief; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
.
AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!

  1. Welcome to the part of the country that does not have to pay 1/2 a million for a home! Now you know why you pay so much to live in sunshine!

  2. Your entry reminds me of my childhood when we put our shoes out the night of December 5th and would find treats in our shoes the next morning. Would that all children could look forward to treats on this feast day.
