And a good time was had by all ...

CLERGY CONFERENCE 2008: Another clergy conference is in the Diocese of Los Angeles history books and I'm "back in the saddle" at All Saints Church. It is always good to check in with old friends, meet new ones and have a little time for study, reflection, worship and rest together ... here are a few snapshots:

Inside, there were the multi-taskers ...

... and the needlepointers ...

... while outside the sky was blue, the boats were bobbing ...

... and the flowers were most definitely in bloom!

After two days of opportunities for community and conversation, for prayer, study, reflection and recreation, we gathered for a closing eucharist that included great music by Fran McKendree & an interactive sermon by keynoter Michael Battle ...

... and then headed out -- homeward bound -- with this closing prayer to think about:
Blessed God, you make all things new: Guide us as we seek your will for a new community of Word and Sacrament, that it may be leaven for the world's bread and wine of delight for hearts in need; a gathering strong for service and glad in praise; and a people listening and responding to your presence in their midst; through Jesus our Redeemer and steadfast companion. AMEN.
