Maybe it's just me ...

... or are there others out there who experience an entire aisle of Easter Candy in the supermarket the-Monday-of-the-week-before-Ash Wednesday just a LITTLE "rushing it?"

  1. Which is worse, that or Christmas before Halloween?

  2. Hate to tell you this, but I saw Easter candy at the Walgreen's store right after Christmas. Talk about stale chocolates!

  3. The Easter candy came out the day after Valentine's Day here in Texas. It's obscene.

  4. Yes.
And it's always the brand of coffee I drink or my favourite biscuits that are removed from sale for 3 months to make room for the Easter stuff.

  6. Only one aisle? You might want to complement the store on its restraint. The local dollar tree had an entire section.

I have been joking with a friend that his store is late -- where is the 4th of July stuff? Yesterday he called me, it has started coming in.

  7. I guess I'd rather see candy which I figure you can eat anytime than all the Christmas stuff in September...

  8. Sam's had Christmas stuff out in September. I've given up on this stuff! sigh...

  9. I started seeing this stuff right after Christmas. What, no chocolate-covered Jesus?!

  11. the only thing that is somewhat good stale is a PEEPS! Just put our Easter egg order in this morning because if we don't the company will run out of them...

I tell you I wish we could do Lent more often than once a year...

  12. I was just thinking about this very thing, walking down the aisles of my local RiteAid. Ruthie said, "Look, mommy! Easter Eggs!" I said, "But it's not even Lent, yet!"

Yikes. Guess they didn't make enough money during the Christmas season this year, so they're trying to make up for it on Easter.

  13. No, clearly its not just you...

MP, a friend is posting me some obscene Easter candy, but she had to make it from molds.

  14. There is something desperately wrong with that picture: there are no Marshmallow Peeps!
I have been a Peeps connisseur for decades. M.J. is right. They are best served after being left open for a few days.
Pink and yellow Peeps are the best and the most authentic. I have heard that the purple ones may cause measles, but I'm not sure.
Non-Easter Peeps are definitely a health hazzard.
