And me? I'm taking the good advice of a good doctor friend: "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good." This is huge step forward toward where we need to be as a nation ... even as it falls short of all it could be.
I agre, S. This is and should be just the first step. And I thank God for it.
ReplyDeleteYes -- my Planned Parenthood e-mail buds are horrified but we must take baby steps. On the other hand, does any one doubt that in this world women and the GLBT community are expendable?
ReplyDeleteSusan I hope you are right. My understanding is that the bill has mandates to buy insurance (which makes the insurance millionaires very happy), with some subsidies for a few poor people, no cost controls or premium limits, and a few limits on exclusions. I am praying without ceasing that our representatives do the right thing to help all of God's children who suffer in sickness.
