No worries; it will get raised just as it has 74 times since 1962 (10 times in the last decade alone). The baby will continue to get its fixes until the next time the crack runs out and they have to make more.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you got a money-based, purely-capitalist society, that's the only way it will work - dysfunctionally.
ReplyDeleteYou can't posit a zero-sum game, in which the most aggressive grabs as much as he can and expect people to behave as human beings. You can't define people by wealth, constrict their ability to live comfortably and then complain that they don't cheer on those grabbing up as much as possible. You can't set up an attitude in which money is the means to acquire power and expect a republican model of government to thrive.
