Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.

It was "all creatures great and small" day at All Saints Church!
Yes ... the annual blessing of the animals ... and this year may just have been the "best ever." Here's a slide show of just some of the wonderfulness:
Meanwhile the rector "preached it out of the park" with a sermon that called us to live out the values of St. Francis by being "we" people who live in the House of Love ... not "me" people who live in the House of Fear. And to consider together as a community what he called "the sacred aspects of civil disobedience" as we approach the 10th anniversary of the the war in Afghanistan.
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. (And thanks for all the swell animals you made to give us joy!)

Great pics, Susan! (inc of Luna & Juno)
Here at St Mike's, Carmichael, we also had a wonderful (if smaller ;-/) Blessing of the Animals.
St Francis would love these.
Note to "Nixon is Lord" ... Nixon isn't Lord and you are an idiot. Find another blog to be rude on.
