Taking a few minute breather I checked my email and found this cool photo from the Archbishop of Canterbury's "walkabout" the Exhibit Hall this afternoon. Back to work ... more later!

Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.

oooooh... That's as close to celebrity-worship as I get. :) Cool!!
ReplyDeleteIf this were a photo of ++Rowan shaking hands with, for example, former-Episcopal Church bishop Robert Duncan I imagine we'd be seeing various blogs trumpeting ++Rowan's show of support for their cause! ;-)
ReplyDeleteDid you tell the ABS that you glitter when exposed to the Californian sun?
ReplyDeleteAt least he is not afraid of kooties!
ReplyDeleteI am openly gay member of Emmanuel Episcopal Parish in Rockford Illinois. I do hope that His Grace has some inkling of the idea that we as the LGBT community will no longer be the scape goats for the sake of unity the Anglican Communion and we will not go away. Please, for God's sake, please may Archbishop of Canterbury no longer recognise the TEC outright (thereby giving in to the voices of fear and even dare I say it maybe hatred)or welcome the challenge that the TEC polity will most likely be to continued ministry toward our LGBT sisters and brothers in our province. I am too tired and am no longer am I willing to make accomidations for the sake of the ideal of unity at the sacrifice of justice for all members of the Church. Either the whole Communion truly lives out the statement "all the sacraments for all the baptized" or not.
ReplyDeleteSigned Michael J Lewis parishioner of Emmanuel Church Rockford Illinois.
ABS? Of course, I meant ABC. Oy!
ReplyDeleteAt General Convention '09, sadly, it has been made clear, that the Leader of the Anglican Church, Archibishop Rowen, (of which the Episcopal Church remains sanctioned) is disapproving of homosexual relationships, especially as pertains to Leadership in the Episcopal Church.
ReplyDeleteHe says.... "Refrain from ending the ban on consecrating Gay Bishops and refrain from Blessing Same-sex Unions."
At this point, it almost seems masochistic for Homosexuals to continue in the Episcopal Church. Take courage! and Vote with your Feet! There are many other Churches and Organizations that welcome and approve of your express desires. The Universalist Unitarian Church Welcomes You.
