Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.

Phriday Photo Op
Every morning I've been getting up and saying, "I should get a picture of that cactus in the backyard while it's still in bloom."
Thanks for the picture. Of all the things I miss most about my native California is the variety of cactus and the unusual and sometimes sporadic blooming of them. Well, maybe what I miss most about my native California is looking out my back window and seeing Mt. Lukens (sp.?) in La Crescenta, or driving to the beach on a warm summer day, or hiking up a trail at Mt. Waterman, or a drive up Angeles Crest Highway, or a trip up Highway 1 to Carmel, or the fog rolling in over the hills of San Francisco. Now you've made me homesick.

Thanks for the picture and the inspiration to pull out my camera for the cactus we have blooming right now. Happy day off!

THAT is a kick-ass cactus. It would pair beautifully with my FrankenStalk!
