Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.
That is a beautiful pie! Sometimes I forget, with all of your campaigning on our behalf, that you are also a mom and homemaker, so you just might know how to cook!
For me the pecan pie is too sweet, it turns my stomach topsy turvy. But I love the pumpkin pie, especially with real whipped cream.
Not many of the people here in Mexico understand how to make the pie crust, so pie is not very available. But I mastered flaky pie crust when I lived in the USA (Dallas & Seattle) while attending seminary. I make chocolate, banana or coconut cream, lemon meringue and about any kind of double crust fruit pie.
I disagree with Susan on just about every issue - except pecan pie. Judging from the picture alone there's no reason to say "I hope you enjoyed it." How could you not enjoy it? A blessed Thanksgiving to all.
And if you sell that pie at a church bake sale, I will fly to Pasadena to get it.

Rev. Susan,
Would you consider mailing a piece of that beautiful pie to Delaware?
Very, very impressive!
Well done!
