Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.

Evangelism Op?
Is Rick Santorum giving mainline Protestants an Evangelism Op???
Lutheran -- churches close Methodist -- churches close Epsicopal -- churches close Presbyterian -- churches close
(As for the hemmorhaging members of the Catholic Church, many gravitate toward Buddha, & Shiva-- not Jesus.)
Rick Santorum, is an anomaly. A Born Again (Catholic) Christian. All Bible Believers, accept Santorum as a Follower of Christ, he is a Member of the Flock, because he is not ashamed of the Gospel.
Bless your heart. If you're looking for something to give up for Lent consider the obsession with negativity and judgement of others so consistently paraded in the comments here.
I'd say more but the parish hall is packed with Shrove Tuesday revelers celebrating our balanced budget, increasing membership and the fact that we paid off the debt on the rectory and are now a debt free congregation. Tomorrow we'll start our 40 Day Lenten Journey to Easter and reflect on how we are called to follow Jesus and align our lives with his love, justice and compassion.

[While I remain Too Catholic to see TEC as part of "Mainline Protestantism"...]

About 1981 years ago, LGM, I can just see you (or your comparable contemporaries) on Holy Saturday:
News flash!-- Jesus 'Christ' is... dead.
How'd that work out?
Santorum donated 1.8% of his AGI to charity in 2011. Newt gave 2.6%. Mitt gave 13.8%. President Obama gave 14.2%.
What turns people away from organized religion is the judgmental, hypocritical, and uninformed actions of so many people who claim to be Christian.
