Heads up. Some errors.

There's two things troubling about what's up there now at
http://www.scpr.org/programs/patt-morrison/2009/12/09/the-highest-stained-glass-ceiling/

First, the picture used is of a bunch of RC bishops, I think.

Second, the sentence: "If confirmed, they would be the first female bishops in the 114-year history of the Episcopal Church."
I guess they mean the EC of LA, but that's not what they wrote.

So, exactly what does Rev.Glasspool bring to the table? Exactly what needs of the LA diocese can she fulfill? In particular, how does one that hasn't even served in the diocese of LA, hasn't even served in the state of California AT ALL, exactly how is she the best candidate for this diocese? How will she help to bring unity in this broken Church? And before anyone says, yes I did go to the LA diocese website and read her description. But it still doesn't answer those questions for me.

You know, Martin, I'm going to receive those questions as geuninely seeking information -- not trolling for ammunition. And I'm going to take a crack at answering them ... from my perspective. But first I've got a sermon to finish for Sunday, 20 thank you notes to write for those who helped put on today's volunteer party, a cover article due for our weekly newsletter and a calendar meeting to plan our schedule for the new member classes starting in January.

So stay tuned. It's not coming immediately, but it's coming.

John ... yes, it was an error in that the Diocese of L.A. is 114. Not sure about the pix ... looks like Romans to me!

Thank you Reverend, I honestly appreciate it. I feel that these questions are questions that everyone in the entire church should be asking, instead of concentrating on that "one" issue alone, although I do believe it is an important issue nonetheless.

The word "unity," when applied to the Church, or the church, for that matter, can be used to cover a host of sins.

What is meant by unity?

What makes unity a principle trumping others?

How much is too much to risk for unity?

All these questions have to be answered before any questions on Glasspool's ability to bring "unity" can be answered.
