Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.

Dear Rev. Russell:
As one who lived as a youngster and teenager at the end of Briggs Avenue in La Crescenta I know well the fear of those living in the path of the fire. Several times were were evacuated with little notice, leaving behind all our worldly possessions to wait in Glendale with friends or relatives until firefighters had stopped the fires on or near Mt. Lukens. My prayers go out to those living in harm's way and especially to the brave men and women who are willing to put themselves on the line to battle the fires. May God Bless and protect those who fight and those who are in danger.
