Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.

Ah, to be in England ...
...now that globalization is here!
All these photos taken within two blocks of my Piccadilly Circus Hotel:
Yes, it's always the worst part of traveling in Europe: the realization that the only "product" we're capable of exporting these days is the worst part of our culture - fast food. Back away from the burger!
Frankly, I find all that damn sad. It reminds me of when I was a student in Cambridge (Mass., not England) and McDonalds wanted to put a franchise in on Mass. Ave between MIT and Central Square. There was a ton of opposition.
Consider, though, that we couldn't export this "product" if people didn't want to buy it. You have to wonder why they would.
gotta get out of the big cities...mcD's has been in London and the Champs Elysees for a couple decades...still, pretty sad, however (but I do like my starbucks)

I'm inclined to quote Blake's Jerusalem....
I lived in England for a number of years and there is still a part of me that feels like I'm coming home when I get off the plane at Heathrow.
I hope you managed a few pints of Real Ale.
