The Episcopal Public Policy Network is reporting that Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, will testify before the United States Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee on the urgent need for legislation to address Global Warming. You can view the hearing on-line via a Live Webcast tomorrow, June 7, 2007 at 10 a.m. ET. To View the Hearing CLICK HERE and look for the red "Live Hearing" button on the front page at the time of the hearing. (I started to write "Pretty Cool!" and then realized it was about Global Warming ... but hey, it's STILL pretty cool!)

In the people with new jobs department, Charles Robertson+ has been appointed to succeed Carl Gerdau as Canon to the Presiding Bishop and Michael Battle+ is heading out to Los Angeles from Virginia to serve as the new provost of the Cathedral Center of St. Paul and its Congregation of St. Athanasius, and canon theologian to Bishop J. Jon Bruno of the Diocese of Los Angeles. (He's going to have to have really BIG business cards to fit all that on!)

Finally, Ft. Worth Bishop Jack Iker continues to "make news" in the "what was he thinking?" department as his sounds-like-a-first-person-report on the March 2007 House of Bishops Meeting gets wider readership now that Fr. Jake is onto the story with his post today: Fort Worth Bears False Witness . (Maybe he thought since it was being published in the UK Evangelical Journal "New Directions Magazine" none of us would read it! Welcome to Globalization, +Jack!)

New Directions is an Anglo catholic (in the Forward in faith sense) rather than an Evangelical magazine. usualy worth a read though.
