So its OK for Lyndon Johnson to take us into war without talking to Congress to get us into war, and its OK for Bush to take us into war, and call it war and speak of victory when Congress has never declared war - and Bishops have the right to make decisions that no one else is consulted about in a church which embodies democracy in its pores as opposed to the rest of the Anglican Communion with a variety of suppositions about governement in the national churches which in their autonomy have made choices different from ours. Wow!!

Bp. Righter is a frequent contributor to TEC HoB/D Mailing List, and has been kind enough to correspond with me numerous times.
A wonderful and courageous man. I think all Episcopalians owe him a huge debt of gratitude for the garbage he's had to put up with over his career from "conservatives" in our church.
I'd love to have a chance to meet him in person sometime...
The HoB in fact has done just this before with no problem; in fact, they recently decided for a while not to ordain ANY bishops. If they can decide not to ordain any bishops, they can decide not to ordain sexually active homosexual bishops.
