WOW!

We thought we got there early -- but evidently not early enough! Here's the line that stretched down the driveway at Campbell Hall this morning at 8:30 a.m. for the 9:00 a.m. kick off of our chance as the Diocese of Los Angeles to meet-greet-and-question ...

... the six candidates in the upcoming bishop suffragan election!

We crowded into the Campbell Hall gym for the opening session with welcome from Bishop Jon Bruno ...

... and an explanation of the schedule for the day: six 45 minute opportunities for conversation with each candidate.
.
So off we went ... turned off cell phones, laptops, PDAs etc ... no blogging, tweeting, Facebooking etc ... in order to give our candidates and our colleagues our undivided, incarnational attention. (Radical concept, I know. But it worked!)
.
Here are some All Saintsers on lunch break:

And now, at the end of long, LONG day of prayer and reflection, conversation and questions, all I can say is ...

WOW!!

Just "Wow!" What an extraordinary group of fabulous, faithful, AMAZING candidates -- AND what a great cloud of colleagues-in-ministry with great questions, insights, enthusiasm and excitement about this next part of our journey together as the Diocese of Los Angeles.

Now we just need to get down to the HARD work of discerning which two of these FABULOUS candidates are the BEST two to elect as bishops suffragan. No easy task. But what a blessing to be called to do such hard work for such a good reason! We are SO ready to rock and roll for Jesus!
.
Stay tuned!
