Turns out the more who are married the merrier! Check out this YouTube moment from Rachel Maddow -- with the "breaking news" that the great state of Massachusetts ... first in the country to achieve marriage equality ... has achieved something else:
THE LOWEST DIVORCE RATE IN THE COUNTRY!
THE LOWEST DIVORCE RATE IN THE COUNTRY!
SO ...
1 -- Watch this.
2 -- Take a moment to "rejoice and be glad in it."
3 -- Then forward, post, blog, preach and otherwise spread this Good News as an antidote to the fear-mongering mis-information coming from those who want to change our pledge of allegience to read "liberty and justice to SOME!"

Ms. Conroy pointed out to me just last week that in the 8 years we've been at St. Paul's, there have been - get ready - no divorces in the congregation.
Zero. Zip. Nada. Bupkus.
As someone once said, "If you really want to defend marriage, pass a constitutional amendment banning divorce."
Word verification: reight.
Close enough
I have always said that the arguments of the right wing were going to bite them in the a** as soon as statistics started becoming available!
Hi, Susan! Below FYI. JT in OC

I recently saw some where that Episcopalians have one of the lowest divorce rates of any religious group in the U.S. and Evangelical Christians have the highest. I wish I could remember where; I do remember at the time it seemed like a reputable source :).
I support same-sex marriage, but this report make the common error of confusing correlation with cause. The lower divorce rate in Mass. is not a result of same-sex marriage. Nor has it happened despite the availability of same-sex marriage. The two are unrelated. On the other hand, the availability of same-sex marriage and the low divorce rate may both reflect a high regard for marriage on the part of the state's people, regardless of whom it is that are married.
Look closely at Rachel. See that? It's her tongue -- planted firmly in her cheek!
HELLO!
Arguing that gay marriage prevents straight divorce makes as much sense as arguing that gay marriage UNDEMINES straight marriage.
Which is the point!
