Sister Joan Chittister famously said, "We are each called to go through life reclaiming the planet an inch at a time until the Garden of Eden grows green again." Reflecting on that journey -- a blog at a time -- is the focus of this site.
Since my Tigers have been out of it since, well, April I ask respectfully if I may adopt the Los Angeles Dodgers as my new favority team. Actually, they are my oldest favorite team as I was an excited 8-year-old when they arrived in Los Angeles from Brooklyn. I even went to a few games in the Coliseum where Wally Moon hit his "Moon shot" home runs over the high left field screen. I remember the great SF Giants and LA Dodgers rivalry, I remember Gil Hodges, Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Larry Sherry. Duke Snider was my idol and I used to listen to Vin Scully on my little AM portable radio which I hid under the sheets so my mother wouldn't know I was listening late on a school night. I bled Dodger blue and whenever I am back in Los Angeles I try to get to Chavez Ravine to see a game. As a teen for about $3 you could take a bus from Glendale, get a cheap bleacher seat and still have enough left over for a hot dog. So play on Dodgers!
Manny's doing well for your guys. He'll continue to do well through the playoffs. After that is when it'll get interesting. Will you be able to keep him? Will you WANT to keep him?

Why, Oh Lord?
Why must the wicked prosper?

JCF, bleeds Giants' orange&black. Never won the Series in my freakin' lifetime. Argh!!!! >:-0 On that note (empathy born of futility) . . . Go Cubs!
Hopefully the Cubs will meet the Red Sox in the World Series and I'll finally have a chance to see the Sox play in the World Series first hand.
JCF, my dad passed the day after Easter this year at the age of 83. He was a loyal Red Sox fan all his life and he nearly missed seeing them win.
