"What word of hope ..."

"What word of hope do you have for LGBT people who are following the events of the Lambeth Conference?" was the question asked to the Bishop of New Hampshire here in Canterbury yesterday.

Click here to hear his answer in this just-posted addition to "The Gene Pool."

"We can't not be who we are anymore."
Well and truly said bishop Gene!

It is time to say that the WWAC experiment failed. We tried, most of the other provinces tried (not too sure about some in central Africa) but in the end, the wall builders won and the experiment failed. It is time to move on.

The real question is how do we send missionaries to those places where homophobia is still, wrongly, linked to the faith? We have the monies that might have gone to ACC available, how do we spend them? That is what GC needs to conisder I think.

I posted my thoughts on Hope on my new blog - Some disagree with Mom - I accidentally deleted the old blog. I am convinced that ABC Williams had the right idea with the small groups. That getting to know people softens prejudice. That disagreement can exist within friendships as long as it is not used as a battering ram. I am hopeful.
