Let The Playoffs Begin!

CHARGE!
So as I was listening to the Dodgers finish up the season by beating the Giants IN San Francisco yesterday (it doesn't get MUCH better than that!) I found myself with mixed emotions: thrilled that "my team" had pulled it out at the end of the season with a great stretch run and wondering how on EARTH I'm going to fit the playoffs into my full-to-bursting schedule.
.
"I don't have TIME for baseball!" I muttered to no-one-in-particular (in my car on the way to Home Depot trying desperately to cram one more errand into a Sunday schedule that went from 8:00 a.m. til 9:00 p.m.) and then had the epiphany:
.
Life abundant means time for baseball playoffs.
.
And trips to the dog park. And calling your mother even if you don't have anything new to tell her because you haven't talked to her all week. And all the other things that add up to a wholeness and balance and health ... in body, mind and spirit.
.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven ...
...even baseball playoffs!
.
Let the games begin!

I love baseball. :)

My father still refers to the Dodgers as "dem bums." I guess the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn is still fresh in his mind. Having lived in Brooklyn, I know he's not the only one! Funny, how folks will hold onto things for so long.

Can't wait to watch the series. Let the games begin!

And my father considered it sign of God's infinite goodness that the Dodgers "came west" after he did ... bringing a vestige of NY civilization to the California wilderness! We never missed an opening day until he died in 1987 ... and I'm sure they take time off from Heavenly Host Duty for playoff season!

Susan,

As you know from our conference call, baseball is important in our Diocese. We came within a game of the International League title...

I wish you the best, however we are the AAA farm team for the Twins.. so may you come within a game as well.

Meh. The Giants let the Dodgers win.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
